"You'll love DoubleMint gum. Double good, double good, double mint bum." THIS. It was a gum commercial when I was a teen and that song haunted me during the day and come nighttime in my dreams those doublemint twins rode their carousel and the song would start but the words were never clear enough to understand. Only that one part I already wrote down here. The rest was just garbled nonsense. This went on for days. I avoided watching tv for fear that commercial would start up again.Mark Twain wrote a piece about getting a silly poem stuck in his head for days. "Conductor, when you receive a fare, punch in the presence of the passenger..." etc. If you like you can read the short story. An excellent ending to his dilemma, IMO.

I'm a boomer and this is a story from the 1920's that my mother and her brother (my uncle) told me. When they were kids they believed that grasshoppers would spit molasses. They would each catch a grasshopper in their hands and shake them really hard until the bugs vomited onto their hands. While shaking the bugs they would yell "Grasshopper, grasshopper, give me some molasses!" Then they would open there hands and the bugs would flee and they would lick up the grasshopper juice. yeah... fun times.

I'm real tired of these sites that make you 'log in' or 'subscribe' in order to look at their articles. I have better things to do than have to go through their restrictions in order to view their articles. They are not worth the effort, IMO.

I had a disturbed sleep pattern for decades. I never felt like I got a deep, restful sleep. 2 years ago I found a company that makes edible gummies with hemp properties. Half of one gummie an hour before bedtime and I sleep deep and soundly. It's changed my life considerably so my body has enough rest to help combat body pain. Sounds like magic? Maybe but I believe in that magic because it works for me.

I'm surprised there is water in them. Perhaps to dissolve the instant coffee? I used to make gourmet dog biscuits and made different styles of cookies. I particularly made extra crumbly ones for elderly or toothless dogs. They were almost like a shortbread cookie and the key to making them so easy to bite and crumbly was not using water in the recipe. Water make a softer, chewy cookie. But the lady says she uses pancake batter which has me stumped because that type of batter makes a cake-like cookie not a crumbly one.

I thought this article was about the big alligator statues people dress up and display for the holidays down in Louisiana. We had a restaurant right in town that served complimentary alligator bits while waiting for your entrees.

When I used to fly I saw this sort of situation pretty often. Some parents think it's funny. Other parents don't watch their kids for differing reasons. It's not funny and could be dangerous. I just don't like kids climbing all over other people's suitcases. Manners, people!

I was in school (6th grade) when Kennedy was shot. My nana was watching the tv coverage when it happened and called my mother to tell her what she saw. Our school sent all of the kids home with no explanation why we were let loose early. When I walked in the house my mother was sitting on a chair in front of the tv crying and I had no idea why. I remember a reporter asking Jackie why didn't she change her bloody clothes and she replied: "let them see what they've done." That's why I don't believe Oswald killed him. Also because of Oswald's response when he was arrested and told of Kennedy's death: "Oh, so I'm the patsy."

It's always amazed me how anyone could possibly draw out a map and display the layout of land and mountains and bodies of water without viewing such from high up in the air.
