There's "bread" made ouf of meat... in the same sense that there are "burgers" made out of vegetables. It would look like, and maybe even taste like, bread. Science has done crazier stuff. :P
Streptomyces griseus is used for antibiotic production and is no longer used in the production of B-12. Today, they use Pseudomonas denitrificans. They ferment the it in a mix of sugar and yeast(which is also an animal). Yay, science it fun. :P
My question is, if they can chop up a bunch of plants, mix in some chemicals, and end up with a burger with no meat..... Why can't they do the same thing with meat instead of plants? Then we could eat a burger where the patty, the lettuce, the tomato, and even the bun is made entirely out of meat! Maybe even make the entire thing out of bacon. Fuck yes. *drools*
I assure you, Streptomyces griseus is an animal. It's apprently acceptable for vegans to brutally murder animals (on a genocidal scale) as long as they are the small animals. Interdasting.
The only source of vitamin B-12, even when made in a lab, comes from animals. You can live 5 years without B-12 before your body runs out of it's reserves and you die a very unpleasant death. Therefor, there is no such thing as a vegan. inb4 (so-called) vegan rage.
"Everyone who doesn't see things my way is stupid and silly." ...is pretty much what I'm hearing and is the worst arguement you could have come up with. My point isn't about my views, your views, etc.... it's about the fact that a view was expressed at all in a place that is supposed to be politicaly neutral for ALL to enjoy. Never did I say that a single person(myself) boycotting Neatorama would impact it negatively, but it does show the owners that one(or more) of their readers is dissatisfied with their course of action.
How would you all feel if Neatorama started ridiculing gay rights, or ObamaCare? Again, because I know some of you still won't get it, the point is that there should be no political stance at all.
I don't appreciate Neatorama taking a political stance in a post one way or another. Nor do I appreciate the attempt by Neatorama to ridicule the beliefs and values of the majority of the population. I just found this site and am ejoying it's content, but if you wish to take such a bold political stance, I'll have to boycott this site and reccomend that others follow suit.
