Re-entry from space without a ship is not something to be taken lightly, although someday spacediving might save lives. A 60-mile freefall is possible, but would require a special suit and helmet. Rick Tumlinson, founder of the Space Frontier Foundation, and former NASA flight surgeon Jonathan Clark formed the company Orbital Outfitters to produce such a suit. http://www.popsci.com/popsci/aviationspace/3c082d2daa463110vgnvcm1000004eecbccdrcrd.html -via Metafilter.

I’m not sure what a Teraflop is, but these computers have a lot of them. The Blue Gene/L computer shown can do 360 Teraflops. Link
Update: Commenter Christophe puts this in perspective.
A teraflop measures a computer's ability to do Floating Point Operations Per Second. So 360 Teraflops = 360,000 gigaflops = 360,000,000 megaflops = 360,000,000,000 flops. 360,000,000,000 Floating Point Operations Per Second. That's 360 Billion.
Update 2: Kevin and Adam say its 360 trillion.
Wow!
After almost a week of training a group of dedicated skydivers put together the largest parachute formation ever built. It consists of 81 ... all » skydivers in the formation and several video people flying around. It took place over Lake Wales, Florida USA. just before sunset and has some incredible shots by some incredible video fliers, and a picture-perfect "starburst" break-away.
I would like to see video of how they came together. Push play or go to YouTube. -via Random Good Stuff
