The secrets behind PostSecret.

PostSecret began three years ago as a creative idea for an art show exhibit, which just happened to change Frank Warren’s life. With a background in small business, Warren is a self-described, “accidental artist.” PostSecret is not a business. He forgoes profit on what is the largest advertisement-free site on the web.

Frank Warren tells the story of how PostSecret came about and became an internet phenomenon in a very short time. Link -via Cynical-C

A zorse is a zorse, of course, of course.

In most animal hybrids, you see a gradual blending of traits from each parent. In the case of this “zorse”, there is no question about which body part came from each parent! Eclyce’s mother is a horse, and her sire is a zebra. http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-2007290649,00.html -via Fark

Solving a maze with Photoshop.

1. Increase contrast.
2. Select the right wall of the maze using the magic wand.
3. Select > Modify > Expand 4 pixels
4. Create new layer.
5. Fill with Red.
6. Select > Modify > Contract 2 pixels.
7. Delete. Now you’ve got a line tracing the solution.
8. Manually clean up the outer edge, and connect the dots.
9. Cake!’

The picture above is a tiny portion of the huge maze solved by this Photoshop method. Link -via J-Walk Blog

Spacediving.

Re-entry from space without a ship is not something to be taken lightly, although someday spacediving might save lives. A 60-mile freefall is possible, but would require a special suit and helmet. Rick Tumlinson, founder of the Space Frontier Foundation, and former NASA flight surgeon Jonathan Clark formed the company Orbital Outfitters to produce such a suit. http://www.popsci.com/popsci/aviationspace/3c082d2daa463110vgnvcm1000004eecbccdrcrd.html -via Metafilter.
