People are like that, too. Take my kids: when I make them earn the money and spend it themselves, they value those items much more than anything I ever bought them.
I always figured the purpose of preschool was to teach children to enjoy school before they have to worry about performance. Looks like this is exactly what's going on.
Pfft! There's nothing wrong with something that's not brand new -plenty of people haven't seen it before. If it's good, it's worth showing to those folks.
Now, it seems that there's a female version of this as well. Women go through menopause and live much longer than they would have otherwise, even correcting for the danger of bearing more children.
