Collecting DVDs is a fine idea until they quit making the players. I don't think DVD players will hold up as well as cast iron antiques (although probably better than VHS players). I'm still upset that new Macs don't have a disc drive, what with all the family pictures I spent hours burning to disc.
1975? Make that three generations. Although I must admit that when the song was first released, it was usually heard with a very short intro for the radio edit. Hearing the album version was a treat.
Every time I hear the exploding teeth story, I think about these folks having rotten teeth that are barely holding together, plus the pressure of white cells building up underneath due to infection. It's really a no-brainer, since they all experienced relief after the explosion. Then I try my best to think about something else.
This reminds me of the talk of how many descendants Genghis Khan has. Just because you are a descendant doesn't mean you carry his DNA. After x generations, you officially have x2 ancestors (although some may be repeats), but you only have so many genes. After x generations, there will be one or more ancestors that you carry no genes at all from.
Star Trek could do anything it wanted by going to another planet, or later by using the holodeck.
