The wildebeest photo is amazing, and I am also struck by the perspective distortion. The animals in the back look huge, which is an optical illusion. If you measured them in the pic, they'd be about the same size as those in the foreground, but since we expect them to look smaller than those in the front, the sameness distorts our perception. This happens when a photo is taken from quite a distance away, which flattens the perspective.
