What McLaughlin said. Cellphones wouldn't work without satellites and relay towers. How would they work across star systems? The fantasy/sci-fi of Star Wars, like most space-traveling sci-fi, expects that one can accept faster-than-light travel, but not faster-than-light radio waves.

And yes, I am fun at parties, so shuddup.

Ha! Funny. I knew this guy back in the 90s. He dated an old girlfriend of mine and he came over my house to play D&D a few times. He was brilliant and a real entrepreneur... but he was so uncomfortable around people. Wondered how he was doing - not at all surprised he's ended up alone and miles from anyone. He was always interested in ultralights, hence his escape from communist Czech. He invented a prop with an adjustable pitch that you could change in flight - made a fortune. Weird guy but I liked him.

Certainly people who choose to avoid red meat usually work at living a healthier lifestyle. How would this study fair if we also correlate the data with exercise, eating more fresh foods, etc.? Chowing down on fast food burgers, smoking, and avoiding exercise would be a no-brainer on shortened life. What if I'm exercising, eating healthy (fruit, veg, whole grains), a non-smoker, AND I eat beef? My guess is this would be comparable to someone that also lived a healthy life style but without beef. At any rate, not giving up red meat.
