How It Should Have Ended (and Began): Return of the Jedi

The crew at How It Should Have Ended spends four and a half hilarious minutes exposing the gaping plot holes in Episode VI, especially taking into account the changes made to this movie after the release of the prequels. Nevermind the extermination of the Ewoks.

Buffalo Wing Cupcakes

The Super Bowl is less than two weeks away. Now I know that most of you probably eat, in accordance with tradition, nothing but cupcakes that day. But hear me out: buffalo chicken wings. I know that it sounds crazy, but try it. Even if it's as a compromise recipe, like this cupcake by Stef of The Cupcake Project.

Buffalo wings and cupcakes. Like haggis and this tube of expired cookie dough that I found behind Alex's desk, they just naturally belong together.

Worst Superpower Ever: Turn Yourself into a Pile of Ladybugs

What is the meaning of Fulop Gabor's statue? I have no idea, but I'm going with a superhero one, especially since it presents a more frightening version of the current ladybug superhero.

Legolas is alive, and he's a Russian woman named Iza Privezenceva. Watch her send arrows downrange about once a second and, as you can see at the end of the video, hitting her target most of the time.

Skullball Machine

Are you decorating a nursery? If so, I've got a great idea for it! Kids love gumball machines. And skulls. Artist Marco Perego combined the two for an exhibit at the Galerie Gmurzynska in Zurich, Switzerland.

Tea Bag Cookies

Kim of Party Frosting made these adorable cookies when she saw wooden tea bag toys. It occurred to her that she could make a tastier alternative out of shortbread. With a touch of chocolate frosting, they really do look like tea bags.

This video, allegedly from the Philippines, shows a traffic cop who has missed his calling. But will it Benny Hillify?

Vespa Computer Workstation

Australian designer David Giametta's 1968 Vespa scooter was beyond restoration, but not beyond repurposing. He modded the back end into a hip laptop desk.

P.S. Giametta took the front end of the scooter and turned it into a lounge chair.

Crab Galaxies

Some crab species burrow homes into sandy beaches. As they dig, they form sand and dirt into small spheres, which they then push to the surface. When large colonies of crabs are active, they can form unintentional but intricate and beautiful patterns, such as this one in Thailand. You can view many more pictures at the link.

Grass Flip Flops Let You Walk Barefoot Everywhere

At least in simulation, because they're covered with artificial turf. But if you like to walk barefoot through grass, Kusa's flip flops are a step in the right direction.

LEGO USS Reliant From Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan

The redoubtable Miranda-class cruisers were in Starfleet service for a century and saw action from the Battle of the Mutara Nebula to the Battle of Cardassia. For us Trekkies, the most famous was the Reliant, which was hijacked by Khan Noonien Singh in the second Star Trek movie. Christer Nyberg made this LEGO model of it using about ten to fifteen thousand pieces. It's equipped with numerous lights, which you can see at the link.

Dann Matthews is right. Darth Vader and Don Draper have a lot in common, such as a mysterious past and the ability to force-choke people at ten paces.

Russian Cosmonauts Train for Winter Survival

Soviet cosmonauts usually returned to Earth by landing on the ground, often in vast stretches of wilderness. They had to be prepared to survive until pickup, and even went armed to ensure their safety.

Current Russian cosmonauts return the same way. To prepare themselves for the rigors of landfall during winter, they train at a facility in Kazakhstan. Their training includes starting fires and building shelters during brutal weather. View several more pictures at the link.

Multiplying with Lines

(Video Link)

Allegedly, this video shows a way to multiply large numbers by marking lines and counting their intersections. It seems to work -- at least on these examples. It's probably a good technique if you lack sufficient fingers and toes.
