Mosaic Made from 10,000 Cupcakes

It's going to be a tough job, but someone has to tear down this exhibit by the London cupcake shop Crumbs & Doilies. Who's up for the challenge?

This is a mosaic of a cherry blossom tree made out of 10,000 cupcakes. The Japanese television show ItteQ ordered it for a special episode.

Darcy the cow of Brush, Colorado was in a cannibalistic mood (we all get that way sometimes, right?), so she hopped the fence and hoofed it half a mile to a McDonald's. She walked up to the drive through window, to the amusement of the workers. Police informed the owners, who brought her back home.

This bullfrog is just chillaxin' on a bench. No biggie. He can sit like a human easier than you can sit like a frog.

Abraham Lincoln's Duel

Sadly, you can't challenge people to fight to the death these days without coming across as a weirdo and getting hauled into the editor's office for a lecture about how to resolve workplace conflicts. It was not always so. Early in American history, dueling was an accepted if legally dubious practice.

Batman-Themed Child's Birthday Party Is Too Dark

(Video Link)

A Batman birthday party? That's a great idea! Little Ronnie loves Batman. Hire an actor to dress as Batman and entertain the kids. But as this sketch from the Cleveland City Chuckle Squad shows, be specific about which Batman you want. The Brave and the Bold is a more age-appropriate choice than The Dark Knight.

Boba Fett and the Sarlacc, A Love Story

In the belly of the Sarlacc, Boba Fett found a new definition of love and tenderness as he was lovingly embraced for over a thousand years. And even now, cartoonist Chris Gugliotti tells us, "A cool breeze across the dunes of Tatooine still [whispers] the name….Fett."

Hold on Tight

Is this Jörg Sprave's idea of a romantic date? No, it's an art installation by Cornelia Konrads. She creates wonderful art installations in parks that seem to defy the limits of time, gravity and space. You can view several more excellent examples at the link.

Paper-Thin Sheets of Ice Cream

SnoBar, an ice cream shop in West Hollywood, California, creates a product that combines the best of both ice cream and shaved ice. It keeps form right until the moment it enters your mouth. A local blogger tried it and said, "If ice cream could whisper, this is what it would say..."

Skiis for Wheelchair Wheels

Don't be limited by the snow. Wheelblades clip onto the front wheels of wheelchairs. They distribute weight over a broader space, so they won't get stuck in light snow. Patrick Mayer, the inventor, hopes to begin selling them in October.

Doctor Who and Scooby-Doo Are the Same Show

They get into a mystery machine and go on adventures, seemingly at random. There's a talking dog. It's the same show.

It's obvious who the Daphne figure is. But who's the Shaggy of Doctor Who?

Axe Cop Is Coming to Television!

Axe Cop, the story of a heroic cop with an axe, was the brainchild of 5-year old Malachai Nicolle and 29-year old Ethan Nicolle. Malachai writes the stories and Ethan, a professional cartoonist, draws them. Now two years after the launch of their landmark comic, Fox announced that it has ordered six fifteen-minute episodes of an animated Axe Cop.
