I have noticed that some old Disney films, such as Sleeping Beauty and The Aristocats, casually show drunkenness as humorous. That could never be done these days.
I remember when, years ago, I owned only one gun and I tried to disassemble its bolt in order to clean it. When I was done, I found that I couldn't put the bolt back together. I no longer had a functional gun in my home. Suddenly, I felt unsafe. But I hadn't felt that way when I owned no guns at all, which was odd. Anyway, I took the gun to a gunsmith who glared at me like I was an idiot and snapped the bolt back together with a single motion of his hands. Bearing that look was the only cost I bore for the service. I would rather have given him money.
Unfortunately, I can't edit it at this stage without burdening Alex, so I'll leave it as is.
"It seemed like a good idea at the time."
