What time is it? Time for some great design inspiration! And here it is in the form of a clever typography-based clock. The face comes in two colors -natural rust and gold leafing and the face is removable so you can even change out the battery and set the time easily.
The clock spells out the time for the viewer in plain English (and other languages too) in a variety of fun phrases like "A Quarter Past Ten" or "It Is Five O'Clock."
If you love stir frys, you've probably noticed that it's practically impossible to make a restaurant-quality one at home even if you have all the right ingredients and a wok. While some people claim it's the MSG (and it sometimes is), the real lacking element is the heat.
Chinese restaurants cook on incredibly high heat stoves that you can't get at home -until now. The WokMon is a great new design that can focus your stove's flames so you can get the high temperatures you need to make real Chinese dishes. Best of all, you don't even need to change out your existing stove. Just put the small piece over your burner and the large part on the grate to hold your wok for you and you're ready to go.
Ever put a crease in the corner of a piece of paper and think? This would look awesome as a house? Well maybe you should because that's exactly what Yukio Hashimoto's F-House looks like and it is totally stunning.
The crisp exterior may be totally modern, but the interior follows many traditional Japanese design practices, making the home all too attractive for those who have a modern edge and traditional values.
When it comes to housing, most people live by the "bigger is better" mentality, but there are those who feel the exact opposite is true. While these tiny houses may not be for everyone, we can all appreciate the cozy, cute look of these minimalist residences.
Over at Homes and Hues, we've compiled a list of some of the coolest and most beautiful tiny houses around so you can see what you are missing with your spacious property.
Boulder, Colorado is known for its amazing scenery and this gorgeous house only seven miles out of town really takes advantage of these views. The home on the slope has floor-to-ceiling windows to really help frame the natural setting and it uses a number of eco-friendly techniques so it has a near-zero energy usage, even in the chilly Colorado winters.
Well, square, rectagle, circular, etc. Really, it's just pretty geometric. The modular system comes with 25 pieces you can mix and match however you see fit and each piece is designed for a different purpose. Designers Erik Olovsson and Kyuhyung Cho based the shapes in each block so they could provide a home for specific objects -a triangle to house an open book, for example.
The end result is a cool-looking shelving system that is totally customizable. See more pictures of the ROOM Collection at Homes and Hues: A Delightful Geometric Modular Shelving System
Indoor pools are awesome, but they also are a huge waste of space when you don't want to go swimming. If you have a mansion, that's no big deal, but for most people, space is a precious commodity.
With the Hydrofloor though, any pool can be closed to look like a regular concrete or stone floor with just the push of a button. You can even stop the rising floor part of the way up to just make the pool more shallow -perfect for those who have children.
Some fans are content with a signed photo, a prop from their favorite TV show, or, at most, a lock of their favorite celebrity’s hair, others want something a little more personal –and often a lot creepier. Here are some of the weirdest pieces of celebrity memorabilia ever sold.
Michael Jackson’s Burnt Hair
Remember back in the 80s, when Michael Jackson, still the reigning King of Pop, had his hair catch fire while filming a Pepsi ad? Well, little did you know that the ad’s executive producer, Ralph Cohen, held on to a handful of those singed locks only to sell them to a collector for $1845 just after Jackson’s 2009 death.
A Lamp That Almost Burned Down Ozzy Osbourne’s House
In 2006, there was a small fire in the home of Ozzy Osbourne. The cause of the blaze was believed to be a bronze lamp that looks like a nude woman. In 2007, that very lamp went up for auction and sold for $2,500.
Suge Knight’s Underwear
The famous Death Row Records filed for bankruptcy in 2009, the company liquidated its assets, which, for some reason, included a pair of executive Suge Knight’s boxer-briefs. The auction neglected to say whether or not they were washed since he last wore them, but it’s unlikely that would have affected the purchase price, seeing as how they were listed at $5 and only sold for $1.
Justin Timberlake may have brought sexy back, but I somehow doubt it rubbed off onto his half-eaten French toast, but apparently one fan disagrees, given that she was more than happy to spend $1,024 on his leftovers.

This house looks like it's floating over the beach, but it's not. It's actually on a high cliff above the water -even across the street from the ocean.
With a little clever engineering on behalf ofF2 Architects though, the structure not only looks amazing from the ground level, but it also offers utterly amazing views. The floor-to-ceiling windows and pathway around the whole outside of the home ensure that these views aren't wasted either.
Best of all, if you like the pad, you can even rent it out if you happen to be visiting Australia any time soon. Want to learn more? Check out our coverage on Homes and Hues: The Pole House Is Up In The Clouds & Away From It All
Disney parks are a great place to celebrate special occasions like anniversaries, birthdays and more, but they’re also a great place to make up an excuse to celebrate some of your favorite things. Whether it’s a subculture, a fashion, a British TV show, an epic wizarding tale or your sexual orientation, there are tons of great excuses to celebrate and meet people with similar interests and here are a few such organized meet ups.
Bats Day
Billing itself as the “largest dark subcultural event on the West Coast,” Bats Day is an annual event where goths, lolitas, rockabilies, steampunks and other subcultures with an interest in the darker things in life meet up at the park. There are three officially sanctioned photo events, one in front of the castle, one in front of the Haunted Mansion (with smaller groups) and one for the goth kiddos in front of the Sword in the Stone.
While originally just a meet up for goths, the event has gained a lot of steam over the years and now includes all number of subcultures and a number of events outside the park during that weekend, including a special dinner, a goth club night, a Black Market and an art show. Bats Day typically takes place in May, so if you want to visit the next one, check in on their website as it gets closer to that time of year.
Lolita Day
For Lolita purists who don’t want to deal with all the goths and other subculture folk there on Bats Day, Lolita Day is a dedicated day for those obsessed with the Japanese harajuku fashion. Scheduled to take place sometime in October, it’s also set during a month that’s much more suitable to wearing elaborate, layered dresses all day in Anaheim.
It’s A Ska World After All
Do you think of dancing when someone yells “skank?” If so, be sure to dress up in your best two-tone gear and hit the Disneyland Park on September 21 and meet up with fellow rudies in the happiest place on Earth for It's A Ska World After All.
Life is great...except for all those people and realities you have to deal with. That's why we love this new "Forever Alone" pod that allows you a quiet, shut off space to enjoy your movies, video games, internet and other anti-social activities.
On Homes and Hues, we mention that the Cozy Room, as it is officially called, is actually a great place for working or studying at home while being able to shut off any distractions, but let's face it -for a lot of people getting away from other people is recreational in itself.

If you couldn't tell already, over at Homes and Hues, we love slides and there's no exception when it comes to this amazing viewing tower/slide/clock combination found at the German campus of design company Vitra. The tower is supported by three columns, two of which meet to hold up the giant clock at the top. The tower has a great viewing platform that allows you to oveerlook the entire campus and when you're done, you can easy slide down the 100-foot-long spiral slide.
This 700 square foot house might just be the most beautiful beach shack ever created. Its open floor plan and sliding walls allow residents to set up their privacy as they see fit and the glass walls make the guests feel like the tiny home is a lot more spacious as they enjoy unparalleled views of the sky and sea.
