Up For Debate: Are Todd and Margo the Unsung Heroes of Christmas Vacation

Count me among the millions of Christmas Vacation viewers who hated Todd and Margo, Clark's neighbors, despite the fact that they really don't do anything wrong other than exist as terrible yuppies. As Megcentric points out with a clever diary written from Todd's point of view though, they really do get the short end of the stick in the movie. In fact, the Griswolds pretty much ruin Todd's entire life.

While I might not be able to agree that the two are actually unsung heroes, they certainly do get pretty screwed over during the film.

Delicious Thanksgiving-Themed Jell-O Shots

Cranberry sauce, French silk pie and pecan pie make for a fantastic Thanksgiving dinner, they're all so filling. Fortunately, there's always room for Jell-O, especially when it is filled with boozy goodness. Best of all, they can all be topped with whipped cream, just like real slices of pie so you get the full flavor and fulfilment of dessert all while drinking at the same time. Tablespoon has all the directions you need to make these a reality for your Thanksgiving meal -just make sure you make them early enough to give the Jell-O time to set.

11 Cool Interactive Zoo Experiences

Want to be a zookeeper but don't want to put in the years of work it takes to get to that position? Then try playing a zookeeper for a day thanks to a program through the London Zoo that lets you feed, interact with and even clean up after penguins, giraffes and more. If you can't make it to London, there are plenty of other cool interactive zoo programs out there these days and Mental Floss has a great list of different ones you can try. I've actually done the San Diego Zoo backstage pass and it was amazing.

Ever wonder how they fatten up those turkey salt and pepper shakers? With candy corn of course! This great pic came from Miss C, whose mother is a big collector of turkey salt and pepper shakers.

That's My Kinda Christmas Tree

There are a lot of clever Christmas displays out there this time of year, but it's still hard to find a Christmas tree this fantastic anywhere in America. You can find this giant salamander tree at the Kyoto Aquarium in Japan. The aquarium is known for weird promotions. In fact, they are the ones who made the fish hot dog back in August. The plush salamanders come in a variety of sizes, so the tree is actually a great way to demonstrate the great items by arranging them large to small.

Promise Your Love With Dinosaur Bones

A diamond is forever, but a dinosaur bone is ancient and if your love has an old soul (or a dinosaur fascination) then this wedding band is a perfect match. The design is by Jewelry by Johan, who sourced the bones he used for the rings from the Morrison Formation in Utah. The fossils date all the way back from the Jurassic Era over 65 million years ago. Prices range from $450 to $1800, which isn't that much considering how old the fossils are and that these beautiful bands are totally handmade.

The Perfect Breakfast for Christmas Morning

Cinnamon rolls are always are great breakfast option, especially during the winter. But if you want something really seasonal, try tweaking the recipe a touch like Crazy For Crust did with this great gingerbread spice cinnamon rolls with a maple frosting. Of course, if you're like most of us Neatorama writers, then you probably wouldn't mind making one change to the recipe -working a little bacon in there whether crumbled on top or baked in the middle of the roll itself. Especially because maple and bacon are so good together.

The Worst Toys of the Year

You know what I've always wanted -a training toilet that lets my baby use his iPad while he learns to go potty. Oh wait, that's an insane and idiotic idea... but it has still been made. And that's not the only utterly bizarre and terrible toy that was released this year. Campaign for a Commercial Free Childhood rounded up the top 5 worst offenders, but I have to disagree about the Imaginext Mega Apatosaurus after all, battle dinosaurs are always awesome for kids of all ages no matter what the CCFC says.

Scout is a Master of Balance

I had the darnedest time trying to get my dog to sit, let alone teach him to balance things on his head. But I suppose once you teach your dog that, it's only one more step to get them to balance bigger and heavier items.

And when it comes to bigger, heavier item balancing, it's hard to beat Scout. He can balance just about anything on his head -even himself.

I don't know many humans who could keep this still with a flower vase on their head.

Of course, some things are harder to balance than others, at least, when it comes to trying not to eat delicious bacon.

A New Thanksgiving Dessert Alternative

What's better than boring old pumpkin pie? Well, if you're a fan of cookies or cheesecake, you might just prefer these delicious pumpkin cheesecake stuffed cookies from Tahnycooks! They even feature a delicious maple sugar glaze on top to tie all those wonderful flavors together. While everyone will expect pie on Thanksgiving, it doesn't hurt to have a few other dessert options, and with something this rich and delicious, they are certain to be a hit.

The Lord of the Rings Quiet Book

Is your little geek ready to visit the Shire? Then try your hand at making this great The Quiet Book and The Ring to introduce your babe to the wonderful world of Middle Earth. We've already seen similar books for Doctor Who, Star Trek and Star Wars, but this time your child can explore fantasy instead of sci fi.

Find the elves in Rivendell and help them welcome their guests!

Will he or she be able to destroy the ring in Mt. Doom? Only time will tell.

You can get the pattern from Julie Bell's Etsy and don't miss her blog post for more great pics.

When A Kitten Takes On Tiny Puppy

(Video Link)

Make sure to watch this video with your sound on or you'll be missing half the fun.

Everyone wants to play here and there, but sometimes it gets a little too hard. In the meanwhile, we can all enjoy the puppy's adorable little squeaks even if they are simply whines because he doesn't want to play anymore.

Of course, this kitty just might be sorry when the little puppy grows up and has learned from the kitty that "no" doesn't mean "no" when it comes to ending play time.

Illustrations of Utterly Strange Google Searches

Remember the days before Google instant search, where you still had to speculate about what strange searches people performed? These days, we all have experience typing in the beginning of a Google search only to get a suggestion popping up that makes us wonder "what the heck?"

And that is precisely what makes these hilarious illustrations of odd auto-searches so darned hilarious. They not only feature some seriously strange searches, but also help visualize how hilarious the ideas behind these searches are.

This Baby Dragon Wants to Join Daenerys

We've seen the real Mother of Dragons, but here's one little dragon that needs a mother to step in. He's in fantastic health. In fact, he's already breathing fire, putting him far ahead of the other dragons of his age.

The best thing about this hilarious baby cosplay is his fantastic facial expression that seems to say "What? I'm a dragon? When did this happen?" Let's just hope he doesn't let his fire go out of control while he tries to get a hold on his surprise.
