For a terrifying moment, I thought that first actor you see was Fred Ward. Glad to realize he hadn't sunk that low. (Yes, he made a couple of Tremors movies, but those are small masterpieces compared to anything SciFi has produced.}
In his autobiography, Chuck Jones tells of a childhood pet cat who loved cantaloupe so much, the family would give him a whole one, uncut, and he'd push it into a corner, gnaw his way in and eat the whole thing, often ending up wearing the remains like a helmet.
Hippos are actually quite bad-tempered, territorial and dangerous; they kill more people in Africa every year than any animal except probably mosquitoes. Even Steve Irwin avoided being around them.
I don't regret that fashion dictates have eased over the decades, but it is a shame that hats went so out of style. (I don't consider baseball caps to be hats..)
If you ever get a chance, read the short story "A Logic Named Joe" by Murray Leinster. It came surprisingly close to describing the modern Internet, and it was written in -1946-.
