1984 is far less impressive the older you get. You begin to realize that everything inside of modern civilization is authoritative, cruel, petty, pragmatic, etc. If you were in a tribe in the Amazon, it would be exactly as authoritative and cruel (except no wi-fi or pumpkin spice latte). Life is always pushing against you - forcing you to either quit or keep going. And whether you like it or not, you will have to interact with "2+2=5" people. The good news is, if you eat healthy, save your money, and with the right amount of luck, the authoritative elements of life will affect you less.
Couple things odd about Lion King. 1) Primates and Lions are extremely hostile to each other in the wild. I get that it's an iconic scene, but it's a jupiter's length away from reality. 2)It's weird that culturally we've chosen the lion as the king of the jungle. Tigers destroy lions in real fights. Pound for pound, Tigers are stronger, more lethal, and more intelligent. (It's illegal to have lions and tigers fight but I've seen plenty of them and lions never win.) Also lions don't live in the jungle.
If you are born Stephen Curry and (god forbid) you get hit by a car you go from Steph Curry to nothing. Likewise, if you're born Stephen Curry in the Congo instead of USA, it's likely no one will ever know who you are. That's how Luck works.
Funny thing about luck is bad luck isn't altogether bad, and good luck isn't altogether good. If you have bad luck for long enough, all of your pain will end. If you have good luck for long enough, you might suffer for 80 years. Good and Bad are always married.
