Yes and No. Without groupthink there is no group. But without individuals branching off, you've got no innovation. The arguments of "group vs individual" are invalid. "We use plastic to make a cup, but it's the emptiness inside that we use"
I sympathize with this story. One time I had a health issue that lasted 9 months and then finally went away. After a few doctors (and a couple different meds), we still don't know what it was. I think I lost like 70lbs during the entire process. I eventually regained all the weight, but it's jarring to go through a health issue and come out the other end with no diagnosis. Especially from the smartest people you know.
If you study/believe ancient chinese astrology (and i do), cat and dog relationships are not only normal but not what you think. People born Year of the Dog and Year of the Tiger are considered A+ Best Friends. There are tons of youtube videos where people are surprised they found cats and dogs getting along. I've also personally witnessed Year of the Dog/Tiger best friends in real life (and they never knew). On a side note: Year of the Dog and Year of the Rabbit are soulmates. Have you ever run across a youtube video of a dog and rabbit getting along? Bet you have. I have.
