I got into a fight with a girl I knew for only two weeks when she said that her dream house had a pool and I said we could get one after the children had grown because I think it is dangerous for small children to be around a pool. Took half an hour to calm her down.

Sounds like a triple win for the malcontents: they had the water balloon fight, they were not going to prom any way so getting it cancelled ruined the other students good time, as well they got to tell the principal to shove it. Oh, and I almost forgot: they proved to the whole school community that the principal is an idiot.
