Jeez. What is wrong with people? I want to know what the Hell was wrong with her parents and then have them and that guy arrested! Gah!

If anything I've read about Aquaman is true he probably goes insane listening to them all chattering about being wet and cold. ;)

I think he also needed that laptop to jump in the air as well. ;) Then we'd see a great picture...including the aftermath.

I suggest a window. Smack the corner and it crumbles. The same idea can be used when you're stuck in a car and need to bust the window to free yourself. Corner.

I think the folks who feel they didn't do too well shouldn't beat themselves crazy over it. If anything this should provide an incentive to go out and learn about everything you can! Knowledge, is a powerful thing even when you don't get to use it you challenge yourself and those around you. My suggestion is if you want to do one step better is to subscribe to a magazine like National Geographic! Or make the habit of sitting the family down and watch a show on Discovery or the History network.
As well, if you have kids put up a map on their wall and quiz them every night on 5 countries and where they are! Stimulate your brains! :)

Thanks for the kind words. It took me a moment to remember who Lord Baden-Powell was until I recalled a picture my Scout Master used to have in our Den of Lord BP standing next to the British flag.
I think kids should get Scout or Camp life activity skills down because in the short term it's a fun experience to enjoy camping and in the long run kids will begin to appreciate the environment and live in a more sustainable fashion.
However, if folks are really serious into learning skills like this ask your Grandpa or someone who used to camp, be in the Armed Services, or even your own kid who maybe a Scout! :) Or if you want a book to read a good one I'm always pointing folks towards is the "SAS Survival Guide" by John Wiseman.

When I used to do my Biology and Chemistry work in my 101 Uni class I used to carry a small magnetic tube that I would put in my coffee and put on a magnetic stirrer! Instant mixing! ;)

I've always been interested in this kind of thing. Not because I believe that should things go bad everyone will go bananas and eat one another or kill each other Max Max style. However, I try to learn survival skills such as building a fire, setting up a tent, finding water, and food because I believe in keeping these ancient skills intact.
So many native people and their skills are disappearing and I believe in what Ray Mears (a survival expert) once said about this: That by keeping these skills alive we are honouring those who came before us, their culture became our culture, and in cases where we need to survive we all can look back and reuse those hard-learned skills to live.
Plus, I love this type of stuff from my days as a boy scout! Self-reliance in dire situations is practically a mantra I was drilled into learning. So if ever I'm stuck on an island I'm not going to go insane because I'll know how to deal with it.

At least Garfield would say what he felt. If this cat could ever speak I bet it would be screaming for LA Weight Loss.

I think you should go for it StacyBee!
I've tried once to start a short story (not related to NaNoWriMo) and like you my brain at first was all mushy from doing nothing but projects and work for Uni. But, I began to write about my daydreams and eventually that kicked off my creative juices. I always carry a small notebook with me that I write down story ideas in point form and titles for my stories.
My short story wasn't that good. It was about a young man who ends up trapped in an apartment and eventually tries to escape from some entity that slowly is consuming the occupants and neighbours around him. It had some kinks in it but I'm hoping to give it a good read through and edit some bits in it.
Tip: From a friend of mine who did participate in NaNoWriMo - Don't burn yourself out in the first week. Let your brain "marinate" in the story and use a small notebook to write and jot down notes and ideas. As well, you have to schedule your writing. Best times to write are early in the morning when your brain isn't cluttered with work...or at night when your relaxing.
Hope that helps! And give us an update on how it goes! :D Good luck!
