Redditor nsandz submitted this photo of poolees getting a preview of what the US Marine Corps boot camp would be like! I'm sure the drill sergeant instructor would yell at the guy for taking an unauthorized drink of water, or for getting his shirt wet.

John Ellis of CERN, wearing "John Ellis of CERN" (what else?) design by ikado
W00t! We're super excited to have theoretical physicist John Ellis of CERN wear a design bearing his likeness by NeatoShop artist Ikado. In that design, John Ellis sits between the Large Hadron Collider and his famous desk, with stacks of papers towering precariously high.
Come to think of it, did anyone look for the Higgs boson somewhere in John Ellis' office? It's probably just hiding there, somewhere amongst the stacks and stacks of paper.
Thanks for the photo, John!

Food adventurists Sam Bompas and Harry Parr of Bompas & Parr (previously on Neatorama) mashed up meteorology and mixology to bring you a new installation called Alcoholic Architecture, featuring a walk-in cloud of breathable cocktail.
Talk about immersive alcohol environment: fine spirits and mixer are fed through humidifiers to create air super-saturated with alcohol. Alcohol would enter the bloodstream of the person inside the room through the body's mucus membranes (primarily the lungs, but also the eyeballs).

"With humidity at 140 percent, there is so much alcohol in the air, you can seee less than a metre but the high humidity level enhances flavour perception," Bompas and Parr said about their latest installation, "And by breathing the cocktail, alcohol bypasses the liver allowing you to consume 40 percent less (with correspondingly reduced calories) to feel the same effect."
The installation will arrive in Borough Market, London, later this month. As you can imagine, you need to be of legal drinking age to go into the alcoholic cloud. And as they say - breathe responsibly!

We've demoted Pluto and kicked it out of the solar system's planetary club, but don't worry, Pluto still loves us! We know that because a photo taken from the New Horizons space probe, launched by NASA to explore Pluto, its moons, and the Kuiper Belt, revealed that the dwarf planet has a giant heart sign, as seen above.

The image, taken on July 7, 2015, is the closest image of Pluto. The space probe New Horizons was just under 5 million miles from the dwarf planet. The white heart-sized area is about 1,200 miles across and scientists don't exactly know what it means.
"The next time we see this part of Pluto at closest approach, a portion of this region will be imaged at about 500 times better resolution than we see today," said Jeff Moore of NASA’s Ames Research Center. "It will be incredible!"

Ecto-1 via @Paul Feig
It's been more than thirty years since the release of original Ghostbusters, so forgive us for being a bit excited about the upcoming Ghostbusters reboot, slated for release in July 2016.
The movie's director Paul Feig has been teasing the world with drips of photos of various Ghostbusters posted on Twitter. The latest photo is of the iconic Ecto-1 - this time more looking like a hearse than the original ambulance (what's up with that giant yellow siren?):
And check out the hood ornament of the new Ecto-1:

Nick Johnson of RoadSnacks crunched data from the government census, Bureau of Labor Statistics, and Sperling's Best Places, and even the FBI crime stats to measure population density, unemployment rates, median income, housing vacancy rate, education, commute times, crime rates, and bad weather to come up with the 10 Worst States to Live In The USA:
- Mississippi
- Florida
- Alabama
- Arizona
- Nevada
- West Virginia
- New Mexico
- Tennessee
- Georgia
- Alaska
The best place to live? Nebraska.

Scientists taking a core sample from a 500-year-old coral in the oceans off American Samoa (Image: Dr. Robert B. Dunbar)
What's the ocean temperature back on July 8, 1650? The corals can tell you!
Humans have been recording weather records for about 150 years, but scientists have found a way to determine ancient ocean temperature and precipitation levels by subjecting corals to the world's most powerful X-ray machine.
Neil Tangri and colleagues at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center took X-rays of an ancient Porites lutea coral off the coast of the American Samoa to get detailed picture of the weather from 500 years ago, with astounding resolution to the week.
