About Me

If you're reading this (like REALLY reading this) my curious reaction is "Why?" Is YouTube down? :-)

Anyway, back to it.

The Guide To Understanding Artists & Enjoying Art: Volume, chapter and paragraph 1: Prepare to sample a new mixture composed of the familiar and mercurial. 2) If at any point you lose this guide, you will have succeeded in dodging a cliché.

a) I never followed a guide. Things either are super apparent to me or they're not. It's kind of in the way that I totally get spelling, but completely am lost at grammar.

b) You will rarely understand an artist. It's not because we're trying to be difficult.

c) Enjoying art should be labeled as a new type of feeling that humanity possesses, like happiness, sadness or anger. I think of it as a compound feeling.

d) There is nothing written that will help you understand or enjoy art. History books will help you understand art, but Art History books will not. Go figure.

e) There is nothing truly familiar or random.

f) If by some great stroke of luck or wisdom you've avoided the guide, or this guide to the guide, then odds are I have questions for you and not the other way around! And can I borrow $5 too?
