I'll always remember when the album Purple Rain arrived at the radio station where I was a DJ back then. It was clear purple vinyl--very cool. The Program Director and I previewed it and found backwards messages also cool. When I dropped the needle of "Let's Go Crazy" I was treated to Prince doing his best Jimi Hendrix work.
Bottom line is that experiences will vary, even in "Mom and Pop' restaurants. Heck, even at home too for that matter. Although don't tell Mrs.O Is said that.
The only ones on this list where we do not dine is the Outback here. The few times I tried it the meat/steaks were tough and gristly. Compared say to Applebee's where the steaks are fat and gristle free. Texas Roadhouse, not to be confused with Texas Steakhouse is off my list because my ears can't tolerate music at jet engine decibel levels. Lists/rankings like this for the most part are a matter of personal taste and although they are chains, can vary from area to area. i.e. some of the cooks may over do the salt, or not cook properly because they are rushing orders.
I had read the book before I saw the movie. In the book Dr.No was dispatched in a more interesting way. The movie had to do it with its typical lame way.
The bioluminescent thing reminded me of once when camping in the high peaks of the Adirondacks in NY. Woke up in the middle of the night and saw the entire forest floor glowing in the darkness. Creeped me out at first until I realized int was "Firefox", a fungus that had that property. Never saw it before.
I can relate to the movie as the setting(year and such) are about the same as my own childhood in Syracuse NY in the late 1940's. Actually lived on Cleveland Ave., but went to Garfield School. No BB gun.
A few years ago, Mrs.O cooked up some frozen salmon for dinner. It was horrible, tasted like cardboard. I looked at the box it came in and the "expiration" date on it was like 5 years ago. I contacted the store and the fish food company. They both apologized. The store gave me a $25 gift card and the fish company a couple coupons for free product. Who would think of checking dates on frozen food? I do now.
