I missed the MAD article. I keep recalling the scene in 2001: A Space Odyssey where the scientist on the big space station chats with his daughter on Earth. I enjoy seeing and chatting with my young grandchildren back up in Buffalo NY on Skype or Facetime.

MrsO. was pretty much a chain smoker who quit when she was carrying our first born. He was a bit small and premature. She didn't stop with our other three who were normal size and on time. Go figure. I quit in 1990 and she did in 1991. Good move.

One would think that profitability/viewers/ratings would be positive for a show like that. Not only now, but all year. We sure get enough reruns of say Andy Griffith, Matlock, etc. on various nostalgia channels. I realize sadly that some very old classics like Sid Caesar, old Jackie Gleason and others may be simply lost forever.

Wonder why it is not in reruns, especially this time of year.

It can happen when you are cooped up with some others for long periods of time. I remember two Russian cosmonauts in space didn't talk to each other for weeks. "Cabin fever"? Submariners must have to go through rigorous mental testing.

When we lived in a small hamlet in the northern Catskills, Mrs.O would take our small children to play in a nearby cemetery. It was a safe quiet place for them to play. Having a county fair in one is a bit odd.

I wasn't jumping to any conclusions. The statistics are showing an increase in car accidents in states in the US where "dope" is allowed. I also see occasional articles on kids and pets eating it and the bad consequences. It's a bit ironic that the same people who moan and groan about "BIG PHARMA" are the same ones promoting a mind altering substance. And this is also at the heels of a long but largely successful trend to eliminate cigarette smoking. Now we just have to have folks sparking up a joint? Bad move. No it's crazy.
