OoooOOOoooOOOooo Carrot!

Danish stand-up comedian Nikolaj Wulff (@nikowulff) shared this photo of his pet guinea pig getting REALLY excited about finding a piece of carrot. I have the same expression when I run across a slice of cake. Carrot cake, of course.

Chicken Helmet

The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City owns this embossed steel helmet. It dates back to about 1530 and probably originated in the German city of Augsburg. A rooster protrudes from the visor, ready to peck and squawk at any foe who dares to approach. The helmet is six pounds and six ounces of pure meanness.

It’s perfect for brave Sir Robin from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

Grandma and Vincent

Redditor sarcasticflower's grandma was in the hospital with a broken hip, and her cat Vincent visited her every day. I can imagine the logistics involved in such a caper, as I have snuck cats into hospitals before, just not as a daily thing. But you can see from the picture that it's worth the trouble.

This is only one of many stories of the love between people and cats. You'll see cats showing their devotion to more elderly folks, prison inmates, babies, and all kinds of people in the post 38 Pictures That Prove Cats Have Hearts Of Gold at Buzzfeed.

This Hideous All-Purple House Could Be Yours for Just $648,000

(Photos: Right Move)

Don’t be deceived by its ordinary, dignified outside appearance. Inside, this home looks like a purple haze from the 1970s. Some poor realtor in the UK is trying to sell this 4-bedroom house in Hillingdon, Middlesex.

It’s at “a sought after address due to the convenience of being located on the Uxbridge Road” and is clearly designed to make you want to get on that road and drive away as quickly as possible.

But maybe this house fits your personality. It’s deceptively normal until people get inside and see what’s really going on—just like relationships with you.

Baby Dolphin Gave a Heartwarming "Thank You" Dance After Being Rescued

Marcos Carramao de Farias spotted a baby dolphin trapped in a plastic bag off the coast of Sao Paulo, Brazil, while fishing one day. He and a fellow fisherman helped free the dolphin and return it to the ocean. The baby dolphin then did a little happy "thank you" dance in the water that will warm your heart!

Be A Man -Smell Like Meat

I don't know about you guys, but I think Axe smells simply foul. Unfortunately, thanks to their many effective marketing campaigns, all sorts of men wear it in excess. If you really want to attract the ladies though, you should instead reach for this new bacon deodorant by JD's, makers of Bacon Salt. The 24-hour protective Power Bacon is just what you need to wipe away that nasty sweat smell after you work out (or from participating in a competitive eating contest) and slather on that sexy smoked pig odor.

Kentucky Fried Chicken Candle

Thanks to the Kentucky Fried Chicken Candle, now your house can smell like a secret blend of 11 herbs and spices.

The KFC candle is the brainchild of Kathy Werking, and yes, it does contain fried chicken goodness. (Werking actually fried chicken in an all-natural soy wax to make the candle and added an infusion of family secrets). How else do you think it could smell that good?

Kentucky for Kentucky, which will be selling a limited edition of these mouthwatering candles soon, teases us with this description: "Let the fresh, fried sizzle of savory golden goodness drift into your hearts and homes with one of our most delectable creations to date."

Twenty four words and I'm sold!

If a candle smelling like fried chicken ain't your thing, Werking also has two more scented candles that will remind you of Kentucky: one that smells like Ale-81, a regional ginger and citrus flavored soft drink that is Kentucky's official soft drink, and one that smells like mint julep.

And yes, these candles would make a far easier gift to give your favorite Kentuckian than a gun, a pack of cards, and a jug of whiskey.

Thanks Whit Hiler!

Cat Gives the Big-eye

Redditor CharlotteScarlet posted this picture of her cat under the title "Annie thinks this is her ferocious face." Oh, we believe that is definitely a ferocious cat face, alright, because we have seen it before:

Carl Jara's Amazing Sand Sculptures

Facade

Beowulf

The Goddess

Time Machine

Fergus Mulvany

Carl Jara goes far beyond sandcastles. This Cleveland-based artist who also goes by the name Grain Damaged sculpts sand into astoundingly complex and surreal images.

The journey to the incredible creations that you see above began with a chance encounter in high school. Mr. Jara was working on a stage crew with Tom Morrison, a master sandcastle builder. While attending art school for illustration and graphic design, he became involved with a thriving community of sand sculptors. After receiving critical acclaim for a 15-foot sand sculpture that he erected in the student gallery, Mr. Jara switched crafts.

You can see many more works at his Flickr photostream.

The World's Most Expensive Teas

How much would you be willing to pay for a great cup of tea? I spend about 2 cents for a tea bag these days, which is about as far as I want to go, considering I drink maybe ten cups a day. Of course, there is a great variety in the most popular drink on earth, so you can pick your poison.

If you're really into bling, you might want to try Yellow Gold Tea Buds, which is sold only in Singapore. Each leaf is painted with real gold! I honestly doubt that adds to the taste, but it will certainly impress your guests. The price is $105.71 for 50 grams, which works out to more than $4 a cup. That doesn't seem all that extravagant, considering what Starbucks charges for a cup of coffee. But Yellow Gold Tea Buds is only the fifth most expensive tea in the world. See what it takes to get consumers to pay even more in a list from top10zen. -via the Presurfer

Parrot Wants a Kiss

(YouTube link)

My, this parrot is a smooth-talker! Can you blame him? The little parrot he's talking to is a sweet, pretty, demure little thing. And he doesn't give up, which brings up the question: At what point does parrot-on-parrot flirting become sexual harassment? The shy little girl parrot doesn't return his kisses, but she doesn't move away either. Maybe she just doesn't understand English. -via Dangerous Minds

Cats Wearing Tights

You might remember the strange Chinese meme of dogs wearing pantyhose. Cats were jealous, and decided to get in on the act -but a cat wearing human clothing doesn't have quite the same effect. After all, the average cat is way too short to wear our tights. Which is actually a good thing, because most cats don't care for tight-fitting clothes. This may not be as sexy as the dogs, but still funny! See lots more pictures at the blog meowtfit of the day. Yeah, it's all the same cat. The other cats of the household are presumably not into this sort of thing. -via Joanne Casey

Cat Loves the Pet Shop

(YouTube link)

Graham is a cat who hangs out at the Pets at Home store in Boston, Lincolnshire, UK. He doesn't belong to anyone who works there, but he's not a stray, either. Graham comes and waits for the store to open every day, then wanders the aisles, playing with cat toys and occasionally chewing open a packet of treats.

“He first showed up around three months ago and he’s here most days,” said staff member George Tarbox. “Initially we discouraged him from coming in, but he kept coming back. We thought it wouldn’t be very good to keep shooing him out as pets are always welcome at Pets at Home, it’s just that they usually come in on a lead with their owners!”

Staff decided to give him the odd cat treat to discourage him from stealing, and occasionally play with him using toys that aren’t for sale.

Can you blame him, really? The store has everything a cat could want, including fish and small animals to covet! Graham has proven to be good for business, as customers love to see him. -via Arbroath

Stalking Cat Compilation

(YouTube link)

You might recall the Ninja Cat video we posted a few years ago -oh my, it's been FIVE YEARS already! After that one became a viral hit, apparently a whole bunch of people decided to see if their cat would do the same. Here are some of the results that were posted to the internet, with varying results. I'm sure many of these cat people could have gotten a faithful recreation of the original stalking cat ...if they had the patience to record their cat many times over a period of time. My cats would rather come at me from behind. -via Tastefully Offensive

Iron Man Caterpillar

Images: (left) steamdino/imgur (right) Paramount Pictures/Marvel Studios - via IMDB

Avengers assemble, or better yet, metamorphose into a gorgeous moth.

Imgur user steamdino found this Oleander Hawk-Moth caterpillar and noticed that its eyespots (an eye-like marking in the body of the caterpillar that make the insect look like the face of a much larger animal to scare away predators - those aren't actual eyes) made the lil' larvae look like Marvel's superhero Iron Man.
