TARDIS Ring Box

Youtube Link

Planning on popping the big question anytime soon? If so, you may want to get your hands on one of these TARDIS ring-boxes. Made by Paul Pape Designs, the box lights up and sounds like it is pretty customizable depending on your needs. I like the opening of the doors personally, the light inside just sets it off.

If Doctor Who isn't your thing, no need to fret. Paul will make you pretty much anything your engaging little head can think up.

Some might say that the proposal is just as important as the wedding, and Paul is happy to help you create the perfect ringbox to help pop the question. Any theme possible, and Paul is only limited by your suggestions.

Jellyfish Lamps Are Illuminating

Check out this great collection of jellyfish lamps by Roxy Russel Design. These gorgeous beasts of the deep are made out of eco-friendly materials such as translucent mylar. While they may cost a pretty penny, a percentage of the profits are going to be donated to The Ocean Conservatory. I have my eye on the "Medusa" lamp, how long until next Christmas?

An Affordable Brew Your Own Beer Kit

Photo: Williams-Sonoma

As both a long time hobbyist and long time beer drinker, I have always considered making my own beer. So you can imagine my delight when I stumbled on this inexpensive Beer Making Kit, well my excitement was palpable. At only $39.95 I think it is quite a steal.

Kit includes: 1-gal. glass fermenting jug. Screw-cap stopper. 3-piece chambered air lock. Racking cane. 4' tubing. Tube clamp. 12" laboratory thermometer. Sanitizer packet. Ingredient mix.

There are also step-by-step instructions to guide you through the process. Sure there may be some additional equipment -pots and pans and stuff- that may be needed, but we're talking about brewing beer here. That is at least a 30 day commitment.

Have any of you guys ever brewed your own brew? Tell us about it in the comment section! I am very tempted to start it up myself, so your input may actually influence my decision.

Full Moon Credenza

Photo: Generate LE

Check out this decorated credenza called Full Moon. It has a photo realistic image of the moon that is coated with glow-in-the-dark eco-material. It looks stunning really. The availability is limited and pricing only upon request. While I would love one, I am going to guess it's a pretty penny for this thing, but one can dream.

A Fine Wine Infographic

Photo: Wine Folly

A fine wine is all that stands between you and turning a good Christmas feast and a great Christmas feast. All you need to do is pick the right kind. Thankfully the folks at Wine Folly have this handy-dandy infographic detailing a few different kinds of wine. Full image here. It organizes and categorizes almost 200 types of wine by taste.

My choice most likely for this year? We will be eating duck for dinner I believe, so a nice Pinot- an Oregon Pinot Noir is looking mighty interesting to me, but I am a red drinker. What catches your eye?

Bonus- The coolest way to open a bottle of Champagne.

Cthulhumas II

Photo: Liquidnight

Co-editor of Geyser of Awesome and Neatoramanaut Maika has created this beautiful and stunning Cthulhumas tree. You may remember we had another Cthulhu Christmas tree not too long ago, well that was Maika's creation from last year. Version 2.0 is a small but significant improvement in my opinion.

This year's Cthulhu Christmas tree consists of the same tree, blue string lights, silver garland, plush Cthulhu, and approximately 50 Cthulhu Tentacles that I used last year with the addition of smaller blue string lights, red string lights, roughly 35 Finger Tentacles, and two sets of Terrified B-Movie Victims desperately trying to escape the clutches of a thoroughly evil tree. To say nothing of the requisite eldritch chanting... Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn.

Keep Calm and Write Graffiti

Photo: GAZEone

People have been keeping calm since World War II. Originally created by the British government, the slogan "Keep Calm and Carry On" has been twisted into so many different facets of pop culture it's astounding. From Keep Calm and Eat a Cupcake to Keep Calm and Kill Zombies, the propaganda of keeping calm has really exploded back into popular culture. But what about subculture?

Graffiti, a long time activity of those influenced by subversive culture, is now becoming more and more main stream. With popular artists like Banksy and Shepard Fairey hitting the scene, graffiti has become street art. It only seems natural then, that pop culture slogans would start popping up in graffiti pieces.

Like so many things that go main stream, a dilemma occurs. Does the popularization of graffiti defeat the very spirit behind this subversive act? Or does it strengthen the ideas behind the creation of art?

How do our Neatoramanauts feel about this? Leave us a comment in the comment section below!

Bed In Breakfast

Photo: Nothing To Do With Arbroath

There are appropriate places for me to nap, then there are places I would let a puppy nap. The two lists, believe it or not, are comprised of completely different things. For a human, a bed and maybe a couch or comfy arm chair. For a puppy? Pretty much any gosh-darn place it pleases.

In my imagination he saw the food and starting eating, half way through he decided to take a nap and save the rest for later. So overcome with eating-exhaustion he snoozed on the spot, curling up on the delectable kibble.

Little Craig's List

Photo: BizarroComics

Whatever your kids may have wished for, there are worse things they could have put on their list. Much worse things. As an avid Craig's List user, I can tell you there is definitely a strange assortment of crap on there. It can really be a whole other kind of strange- a deviant kind of strange.

Obama Plays with Spider-kid

Photo: Pete Souza / White House

Finally, something involving Spider-man that is actually amazing. Thanks to the White House Flickr page we get this gem. The picture was takin in the Outer Oval office on Oct. 26th. If the leader of the free world can have a little fun every once in a while, then I think it is high time for people around here to start enjoying my practical jokes. Taping the bottom of some unsuspecting coworkers mouse, rendering it unusable for the time being- now that's just good old fashion funny.

Remember the dad that trolled his little girl with the year book photo? If I was a parent of this kid, I would make sure he uses this picture in his yearbook for at least the next 4 years.

But What I Really Want...

Photo: Hi, I'm Liz

Merry Christmas to all, and to all an ipad mini with wifi. That's how it goes right? As you get older the things you want during the holiday season change. Sometimes that's good, sometimes that's bad , but most of the time that doesn't really mean anything what-so-ever- it's just a natural occurrence. Hears to hoping everyone is having a happy holiday, cheers!

Hobbit White Cake

Photo: Meemawof10

Oh the weather outside is frightful, but this hobbit cake looks so delightful. Mmm, Bag End looks delicious.

Created by Cake Central user Meemawof10, you can see there is a little Bilbo Baggins, a miniature Gandalf, and a pint-sized Thorin Oakenshield. I am willing to forgive Meemawof10 on making Gandalf white instead of grey if I can just have a piece. I love cake, especially niche themed cake. For some reason I think it just tastes better when it's decorated into a theme.
