I think it depends on the reason. Is there to be no booze in the car because of drinking & driving, or because he's 19?

If because he's 19, then she's over-reacting, or at least reacting because of the wrong reasons. Here in Canada the drinking age is 19, and the US is a poster child for hypocrisy in how they treat drinking (I can only imagine what some European countries think of us).

As long as she was reacting to (an I assume previously opened) bottle of alcohol in the car, then she's doing an awesome job. I'd be pissed if it was my kid, too.

When dealing with stupid, bitter, or angry people, the only way to get through to them on any level is usually through shaming them. In this case, the bitter neighbour was shamed.

Congrats to the 'cactus' neighbour. Few people would've been as clever.

It's not like this is a normal desktop PC versus a car. The only reason you'd need a machine like that is for intense rendering or video editing/processing.

Although $20,000+ might compare to a car, the car equivalent of that machine would actually be a Ferrari or a Lamborghini, so the comparison isn't exactly fair. The computer equivalent of a $20,000 car would be a low-to mid-range Dell or HP of the variety you'd readily find at Best Buy or Costco.

As far as Macbooks, Macbook Pros, and iMacs go, the Macs are actually pretty competitive when compared to PC machines of similar specs.

And for the record, I own and use one of each platform, so don't bother flaming me.

If the article is correct, and that sorority was at risk of going defunct as a result of a declining brand image and enrollment, then just like a company or organization they were clearly in need of a rejuvinated marketing campaign. Unfortunately, it backfired.

Beyond that, if these women were admitted with the knowledge that they would present a certain image, then to not adhere to that agreement puts them at fault, regardless of whether its PC or not. If they were not informed of such an agreement, then yes, the sorority is at fault.

As a society we need to realize that we don't all like each other, we aren't all attracted to each other, and most importantly, we don't always get what we want and can't just cry "victim" every time. Whether its a job or clique or even a family, sometimes thats just not where you should be for better or for worse. Clearly these women will be better off not part of this organization.
