The legislation is trying to deal with a real problem, but I think most people will agree this isn't the best way to handle it. Maybe the news story will inspire universities to think of more ways to handle the issue.
I'd like to see something like: a blind vote by students, the bottom 1% of professors have to attend mandatory teaching training and audit a course from a better-ranked professor.

Just a small note: Public schools in China are free for 5+ and USA are 4+ years old. I understand that 1 year is a big difference though. I agree that the USA school system is a better experience vs China though (at least what I've seen in big cities).

I bet those are all people without kids. Maybe in a world where people are having children later and later we'll see adults engaging in childlike behavior. Cartoons, video games, inane humor and jokes...

I think a lot of kids at my wife's school don't know enough about computers - they know how to entertain themselves, but if they are told, "sign up for an account with your private email, and then send your username to the teacher" they wouldn't be able to perform the task without help (10 year olds). I was talking to a teacher in Japan who has the same problem and said he felt that this was a common shortcoming in Japan.

kinda funny question: the vid inspired me to watch some Jackie Chan movies AND because I saw how much effort is put into the scenes, it makes me care more about where the money I spend goes.
Is there a way for me to tell who my dollar is going to? Honestly, I think being not able to figure out who you are paying is a strong argument for piracy.
