It does have a ventilation system.

I wonder if you are supposed to sleep with it closed or not, and how long does it take to open/close? It would be bad if robbers came in and it took 90 seconds to get the thing closed.

I think it looks creepy because you can't tell which part is the front an which part is the back. Add a head on that thing, and people would probably respond a lot better.

This is very interesting. I myself work on a certain naturally occurring healing factor that coordinates immune responses to cuts and skin regrowth, but I had never heard of this. I may have to order some.

Umm, actually macs are highly resistant to viruses, due to the way OSX handles programs. Basically, it sets up a sandbox for each program with access only to those functions that it needs. If it requires system level functionality, it will tell you, and require that your use an admin level account and type the password. In my experience (been using a mac exclusively for four years now, before that used both Linux and Windows) the only programs that ever want system level access are Microsoft products, or a few games that were ported from PCs. These programs don't have great stability, so I don't like to use them. Better to use OpenOffice or so.

That said, I have had similar problems with my Mac Mini. I found that it was just underpowered, so I upgraded the RAM, and that fixed it for the most part. I still have trouble every now and then (for example, Safari has been having trouble with flash for a while), but for the most part it works fairly well.

Take the total energy output of the sun, and divide it by the surface area of a sphere with a radius of 93 million miles (the formula is 4 times pi times the radius squared). Take that number and multiply it by the radius of earth squared times pi.

It's a very small portion of the total output.

Seems to me like the game sways greatly in the favor of whoever goes first. I have won every time I went first, and lost every time I didn't.

Maybe multiplayer won't be as lame.

The only thing I could think of to help improve the site would be some original content (ie things that you don't link to), but that kind of defeats the purpose of this place.

Neatness factor sounds like a great idea to me, although I read everything that comes on here, so it wouldn't really matter to me.

It should be done on a sliding scale, perhaps based on the ratio of women graduating from MBA or equivalent program from, say, 20 years ago (or whatever the average lag time is found to be between graduation from school and entry into executive positions for men.

You can't just wave a magic wand and produce female executives. It takes time to train them, and time for them to gain leadership experience.

I have also heard of monks in the Himalayas who through meditation are able to drastically raise their body temperature, and survive for several nights exposed to the elements at that altitude. They did a demonstration for scientists where they used their bodies to dry wet towels. You could see the steam coming off of them. It was pretty interesting.

This is probably a case of him subconsciously (or consciously if he has trained to do it) opening a metabolic pathway that is normally closed. It probably uses up a lot of energy, but it seems a much better way to survive extreme cold than sacrificing the extremities.

Yeah, the Wind and Rain Bridge beats them all in my book. Perhaps followed by Kahju. The others are neat, or added only to placate the American's collective ego.

Some have said that homosexuality is a natural occurrence which stems from the mother's perception of overcrowding. In fact, I think there was a study that seemed to indicate that the second child was more likely to be gay than the first. Seems logical enough to me.

So Tim, have you heard the Good News? Xenu is coming back, and all of his loyal followers will be treated to rides in space planes that look just like DC9's, only with different engines.

No dumping everyone in volcanoes for some reason this time, promise!
