I'd be worried that there were still 100 russian missiles pointed at the house/silo, long forgotten hardware from the cold war or something!

@ cori

"I’m a female of average height (5?1”)"

Uh since when is 5'1" average height!?

Average height in the uk and the us for women is about 5 foot 4.

Even in Japan the average height is 5 foot 2

I went to his mausoleum the other day.
He is considered a hero in Cuba.
Just like Winston Churchill is considered a hero in England, although he was also responsible for a lot of deaths.

One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.

"how many homeless would that have helped"

It's OK, they fed all the homeless people to the spider. ;)

I took some photos at the Liverpool event if anyone is interested:

I'm impressed with the medal count of Cuba. in Athens it was only 3 medals short of Britain's total. And I would assume the money/facilities involved in Britain's team would have been far greater than that of Cuba.

@badgirl "Our Father does beautiful work. Wow"

As a great man once said:

"Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?"

we experienced it once when we visited tokyo (and it was an interesting experience!) nothing quite that extreme, but as we were the biggest (tallest) people in the carriage it was a mad squeeze, the guys on the platform kept gesturing for more people to get one, it was crazy!

It was only during rush hour so the rest of the holiday we were fine. The guide book said that every visitor should experience it once!
