There was a case of precisely this killing someone in the Darwin awards recently (last couple of years). The victim was dismantling shells to sell the metal as scraps. Kinda sucks that people have to make a living smacking munititions with a hammer.

Le parkour is definitely the way to go. From memory David Belle is the guy that started it. There are plenty of good videos on the parkour website. One in particular is about 40 meg, the last scene shows Belle jumping down from a stairset about five stories up onto a building then down to the ground, well worth checking out.

The flu is a virus, so the prospects of the government finding a cure is pretty limited. I suspect the research is more focused on attempting to better understand the spread and treatment of the flu. While there is a huge danger in bringing something lik this back to life, if handled correctly the benefits are certainly worthwhile, as the concensus is its just a matter of time till the next pandemic

It's definitely for real pld. This guy was a plenary speaker at a the AIP (aus. institute of physics) congress in Brisbane, Australia about a week ago. He mentioned that if they can get the effect working over a slightly longer distance (maybe 200km) they'll be able to comunicate with satelites.
