I've often wondered if some state fairs and other similar gatherings increase the number of categories and raise the entry fees high in order to make the event a fundraiser, and if perhaps those high fees dissuade bakers/craftspersons from entering items into competition

... but maybe it should be "mass" rather than weight, because there's lots of stuff on the ISS and in satellites that are expensive and have a weight at or near zero. But then one could argue whether things in orbit are "the world's..."
