Im not ready to kill the queue, I think its a great opportunity to participate in the blog. I have submitted links prior to the queue but I think this is a little nicer and lets the submitter have a voice on the front page which is pretty cool.
I have the same problems with the queue as everyone else *Massive amounts of front paged post *Lack of quality posts. *People submitting content that is not in the vein of what we've come to expect from Neatorama *Reposts. I dont mind an occasional repost by Neatorama authors if enough time has passed since last posted because more than likely the post is still neat *Spam
One suggestion I have is to limit the number of times a user can submit to once a day.
I think, like the forum, the activity will die down a lot after the first month. I think a lot of people are motivated to participate in the queue because of the reward, which, I think was your intent. Its cool that folks are playing along but it seems like there isnt much thought being put into what people post. The casual visitor may not notice but the Neatorama regulars can see a big difference. There are a lot of us that comment, submit and post on the forum regularly but I am positive that there are just as many quietly read the blog on a daily basis.
Also, bad posts are Adam's realm. I dont want the quebot taking his place :p
Pretty brilliant marketing campaign. Instead of spending $3million for a super bowl spot that lasts 30 seconds, they give out $5million worth of breakfast and have local radio and television station in the country cover it for a day. Also, nice to give people breakfast :)
I used to be a Dennys regular. Me and a friend would eat greasy breakfast food, play cards, drink coffee and smoke cigarettes until the sun came up after getting off work.
We used to roll giant snowballs like this when I was in elementary school. Snow days are a foreign concept to Colorado kids. We had to go no matter what and they would send us outside to play in the snow during lunch and recess so we would just see how big of a snowball we could make. They would get so big that they would pull up the turf under the snow as we rolled em.
The guy that managed to ride the snowball for a few seconds of glory made me lol

This looks like a debutant ball broke out in the middle of a rock concert. A little strange
Id like to see the first two attempts
