very cool. I know nothing about photo-shop and the like. are those tools and touch-ups actually used in such software (for pictures, not video), ie that easy? I wonder if the video production involved real touch-ups like make-up, lighting, etc.

Everyone knows that before 1960 the world was black and white (colour hadn't been invented yet), and so were Smarties. This is an early prototype B&W Smarties dispenser. Variously named outlets were provided to give the illusion of variety in a pre-rainbow world. So True!

Aahhh... thanks for the explanation - I completely didn't recognize it as roman numerals, but it is so obvious now.
(as with other puzzlr questions, it's interesting that there can be alternate explanations than was intended, ie the algebraic interpretation)

I may be drunk on chocolate, but I don't understand why the mirror/flip solution makes it 'correct'. the better answer on pzzlr is "(X=0, I=0) as well as (X=-2, I=2) would satisfy the equation or make it correct"

Clearly it's an early model York Peppermint Pattie trap. Down on the farm, those little choco-minty delights would be zipping around all over the place at blazing speed, and the only way to catch one was to use this device.

In an other time, and an other dimension, where the Swiss ruled the world, Rob Ford was king, and Fun was a four letter word, this was one of the weekly mind-bending objects used to entice shoppers to stare at store front windows, wondering for no less than 33 minutes, what the heck it is, trying to think of a witty response, in order to lay claim to the prize of wit and humour.

interesting how at 2:05 you can see Max taking on cat-like playing behaviour (leaping over Savannah, etc.). If these beasts can get along, it's inspiration for the rest of the world to do the same.

In Victorian Times, the mouse circus was always a popular Sunday affair. In order to out-shine the other travelling rodent circus acts, many tools were favoured to give our miniature cheese-nibblers a paw-up on their fellow vermin. This tool is the infamous "French Souris-Planche-Des-Doom" (mouse-plank-of-doom) trainer. It allowed the wee ones to practice the gravity-defying scrambles, leaps, and tumbles, across a beam no wider than a mouse's fuzzy-five-claw (or is it four?). The wheel allowed for angle adjustments at an number of gear-locked set points, including the 10 degree "ho-hum", 45 degree "cheese bonus", and 90 degree "sign of the apocalypse now!".
