Back in the mid 80's I rented and lived in a house in Pekin, Illinois that was owned by the parents of Dan Lloyd, who played the boy Danny Torrence in the film. His mom loved telling my wife and I that her son had starred in the movie.

It's a prototype model for headwear for the band Devo!

Schrodinger's Cat "It's a trap!" t-shirt, men's size XL.

(Actually it's for checking the balance of mower blades during the sharpening process.)

I recall watching that Carol Burnett episode with my family. My dad said he thought the scene of McLean Stevenson in the raft was an indication that Stevenson thought he made a mistake by leaving the show.

Someone didn't think this out. Once they took the food away and disposed of it, they couldn't really go back and charge the parents for it, now could they? If they had just kept track of the food taken by the children they could just bill the parents after the fact.

I understand the school shouldn't be in the business of providing credit for school lunches, but the way they handled this incident, both the children and the school lost out.

It wasn't very accurate from my perspective. 57% conservative/43% liberal indicates I am closer to a centrist than I see myself.

One thing I don't understand is how using a "modern browser" marks one as a liberal.

I loved WKRP and I scored 100% on the quiz! I met Gordon Jump (aka Arthur Carlson) twice in my life as I worked for Maytag and he spent the latter portion of his career as Ol' Lonely, the Maytag Repairman. He told me that even though he was appearing at various corporate functions as his repairman persona, the most frequent question he was asked was to quote that famous line, "As God as my witness I thought turkeys could fly."

Those are the stores I refuse to patronize. I can't stand being made to feel like a criminal just because I am carrying merchandise out of the store. It's bad enough when a cashier doesn't manage to demagnetize the EM tag in something I buy and the alarm goes off when I walk out the door.
