Thus, your utility from going to Clapton must be greater than 10 to make you better off in total.

It seems he only had to pay taxes for the part of his salary that he _did_ take, the fringe benefits. Had he taken the salary as well, it would have been subject to taxes in addition to that.

@Lea: No sarcasm. I really do find it too harsh a measure to expel someone for cheating on a test. At my university people getting caught cheating will get a negative grade on that test, end of story.

Strictly speaking, this is not a Venn diagram, which represents _all_ possible intersections available within a set, but an Euler diagram.
By any name, though, the diagram is great.
