The chair doesn't look all that comfortable to sit in for much longer that half an hour, nor is it adjustable. The front edge of that 'deeply-cupped' seat would be pressing into the back of the legs unless at the right height for one's leg length.
I have a pair of custom-made silicone earplugs in my purse at all times, specifically to help me get through a world that is often loud and abrasive, with my nervous system intact. (Drugs are not an option for me). I've found being able to 'turn the volume down' improves my mental/emotional state enormously. I have purchased these earplugs to keep from spending hours entertaining the fantasy of doing to others (or something even less pleasant) exactly what the passengers on that flight did to Mr. Drunk and Violent. No doubt he feels *he's* the victim. In a confined space thousands of feet in the air over open ocean, I wonder if he eventually comprehended how humanely he was treated.

The monied folks in this town are either in the south end of town, or at the what we think of as 'the country club' part of town- the north end. Fort Collins runs between $27K and $110K. We have a high number of both retirees and college students.
I like this more intentional version, to my sister-in-law whipping out her ultrasound photos (she had eight children) to overshare over Thanksgiving pumpkin pie and coffee.
And so much more... on the other hand, my son hasn't barfed into my slippers, or autographed my leather furniture with a Sharpie (reports from two friends with children in the last few weeks).

An acquaintance of mine recently told me that she was given as a gift, a piece of jewelry containing an alexandrite that is larger than anything I've ever seen. I must admit that that news sped my heart up a bit. Those stones are truely rare. I'm hoping she'll bring it in to the office on our next visit so I can ogle it.
I haven't been able to look at diamonds as being particularly 'valuable' or 'special' (whatever the provenance) since 60 Minutes covered the De Beers cartel, and the Russian stockpile of diamonds, about 20 years ago. I have been considering buying a synthetic diamond lately though. The quality of a manufactured diamond is so good these days, it's difficult to tell real from fake without a jeweler's loupe. They have the added benefit of not being used to fuel wars.
