User aims at the cows head, and hits it with a bolt, knocking the cow unconscous. this way the animals throat can be split and it won't feel any pain (except that of being hit by a heavy bolt). user reels in the bolt and waits for the next animal to come along.
i've never seen a slaughterhouse bolt gun, but the guy who wrote Fast Food Nation gives a good description, and that thing above is exactly what i imagined!
We got ice light columns like that in Southwestern Michigan a few winters ago. I think it had been really cold and dry, then it got colder and we got some moisture from over the lake, but there wasn't enough to get snow. The ice crystals were just suspended in the air, like frozen fog. anywhere there was a street light or a traffic light, there was a column of light going into the air, because the light was reflecting and refracting off the ice crystals.
resolutions: 1. not sweat the small stuff 2. learn to play guitar (i already paid for 2 months of lessons, now all i need to do is go to them and practice!)
