@Alex I really do wish more Americans could afford to spend a few weeks in at least a couple foreign countries - at least enough time to see how different regular, daily life is for average citizens in other countries. Then they'd have a better perspective on what's great about America and what could use some fixing.
What makes me sad is when "Hmm, America should do something similar. It would make a lot of sense in the long run" gets immediately shot down because "There's no way to make a large profit from it immediately."
So what's the yearly total cost of ownership for a restaurant robot vs the salary for a human server? I'm guessing the robot costs more than "minimum wage plus tips."
I'm with the "great idea" crowd. The tiger gets some play/physical activity, and the crowd gets a lesson in why it's not a good idea to stick your hand in the damn cage "to pet the big, giant kitty."
@Tirno You sure you want to brag about that "former weathercaster" thing? Forecastwatch.com has done studies that showed government weathercasters had the lowest accuracy of four major services: http://www.forecastwatch.com/docs/Short_Term_POP_Accuracy_2007/
I'd be interested to see what the final tally is for those stocks. Too many people already rely on various forms of hoo doo to make decisions. Why not the stock market?
Coke Blak wasn't bad at all. I do wish some company would put out cold espresso/coffee drink that wasn't loaded with sugary milk. (As it is, I usually just make my own by brewing a pot the night before and sticking in in the fridge.)
I'm LOLing at "lol", who's either a troll or obviously has never taken a basic science course and definitely not a college-level geology course. Otherwise he/she would know that "theory" does not mean "wild-ass guess" in the world of science. Also, the term isn't "continental drift" anymore. The new hotness is "plate techtonics" and there's plenty of hard, scientific evidence for it. In fact, plate techtonics is happening right now all over the world and is being measured documented.
"Creation Scientists" on the other hand? Those folks just make up stories to fit their mythology.
(I like the silvery vampire fangs bottle opener thingie)
