Edward - Eh? Instead of "food and drug administration" they want "drug administration"? Read Sinclair's book "The Jungle" if you want some perspective on why food regulation laws are needed...or were you just thinking the "f" meant "federal"?
I'm amused by the comments that assume he'll be mistreated simply because he doesn't toe the line as far as his gender stereotypes...like, blame the victim much? The whole problem here is not that his parents are messing him up it's that most parents instill a hatred of all things different into their kids so that they would beat up a kid like this one...how about recognizing that syndrome as the problem here?
Does anybody reading this blog have any desire to be one of the nameless workers that inhabit that factory? Does anybody have an ethical issue with a company that insists it can only operate by using exploitative working conditions like that?
My heart bleeds for the bloated fat-cat oil companies whose only motivation is profit, environment be-damned...the "gub-ment"s job in this situation is to prod these companies toward a more responsible management of resources and the little-bitty fine is a pretty wimpy attempt at doing so
Happened to me once...although I'm pretty sure it was just an incompetent driver who let his foot off the brake and backed into us downhill...still, he got all self-righteous and wouldn't believe it was his own fault
Naiveté? Really? You don't think it's the job of parents and educators to steer children away from making each others lives miserable? Isn't that why schools across the country have instituted zero-tolerance rules for bullying?
