My two cents (I am a Dutch graphics designer btw). Here in The Netherlands the whole 9-11 tragedy wasn't just another news item. We did/do care, since it affected not just the United States. Now, as for design...Yes it cán be what some call provocative, but that's not bad per se. Although not intended that way, it makes people (including me) think of 9-11. But how is that bad? Discussion is enrichment, why else would we record tragedies in history book?

Typeface is the shape/form/design of the characters, a font is merely the agent which makes printing of the typeface possible.
In digital what we call the file format, in (old school) printing, those steel blocks with the raised and mirrored character (an actual font!).
