i'm all for having fun, especially goofy fun, but i have to agree with both of the above posters. why? why would you want to distract the attention of security with this when those agents have more important things to do. really, what is the point? it's only goal - that i can see - is to get attention or as the dreaded conversation starter. pretty sad if that's the way you have to go about getting attention and/or someone to talk to.

i knit all the time - but i always lose count of the stitches so...i must be doing it wrong.
also, any knitters out there have an opinion on how she's holding the needles? it's an article from the BBC so i assume she's knitting english-style - it still looks really odd.

i've had several surgeries on my ankle lately and each time they take a Sharpie pen and they not only write something like 'THIS LEG' with an 'X' or some such thing - but they also write 'NO' on the other leg. the fact that 'NO' looked like 'ON' when viewed from the other side was a little alarming...but all went well.

that's beautiful. of course, the fires are atrocious and i, too, hope they catch those responsible...but that act of kindness and the trust of the koala is beautiful.

i'm gonna go ahead and cast my vote for Starship's horrendous noise 'We Built This City' too. i swear, i remember hearing that for the first time and just thinking...why? dear goodness, why? that song must die...for murder if nothing else - it killed Jefferson Starship.

as a 'maker of monkeys' i declare this a fabulosity extraordinaire!
@ fastergrace: teehee, that's not a mouth opening on the rear...in a regular sock monkey that would be the heel. since a sock monkey is made out of a pair of socks - the other heel would be used for a mouth. however, it cannot be denied that there are mouths on the breasteses...that may be even scarier. no?

'You're So Vain' is hilarious - more for Tony Randall's comments than for Jack Klugman's voice. they were smart to go for the comedy and it totally worked. it was very reminiscent of Mystery Science Theater - in song version - and, at least in the beginning, Tony Randall sounded a lot like Mike Nelson. now we need a whole new sub-genre of 'song riffers'.

i think the poster is pretty funny. you see, what they did there, was they took and made it look like a 'Lost Dog' poster. then, you read the bottom and BAM! turns out the dog isn't lost after all. YEA! they just think their dog is AWESOME. so awesome that they felt compelled to trick you into looking at him and now you also see that he is awesome...and not lost at all as you first suspected.
