I don't care much for all of the star wars artwork, but I also make sculpture from scrap metal, and this was done very well. You will often see similar sculptures outside of transmission shops or welding supply stores, but I have never seen one done with so much attention to detail. Bravo!
thom; You are so right about the "magic box that will break if you touch it wrong". I run into people with that attitude all the time. I even was one of those people, until I sat down and just started messing with the computer. Once you realize it won't be detrimental to experiment with it, the whole world just opens up in front of you.
Also gotta agree about your first point. I see a lot of snobbish attitude towards people who aren't a total whiz with computers. I can use a computer, but I'm not the best at it, but I excell in areas where some of my friends are totally inept (like mechanics, plumbing, carpentry, etc). I never make fun of them when they ask me to help them with their car, but if someone admits to making a mistake with their computer, they act like you may as well sign up for the special olympics.
Face it people. The world is a filthy place. Don't let it make you crazy. We all made it this far, and I am reasonably sure most of us grew up without anti-bacterial soap and hand sanitizer. I was always filthy as a child, and I still get dirty at work. It's OK. Don't let some company convince you the world is filled with deadly disease and pestilence.
Gotta agree with Gerry. You can see this with lots of modern engineering. Look at a car from the fifties compared with one of today. It is actually rather surprising. Also, things now are very utilitarian, and lack the mark of true craftsmanship. Things now are built, not crafted with care and an eye for aesthetic quality.
I'm a big Belgian beer fan, especially Chimay, and I don't think I could be considered a "Hipster". Most of the people I know who appreciate Chimay are older, like 45 and up (I'm 32).
Would not want to live in it permanantly, but it would be cool as a getaway spot. Back in the woods, just you, some whiskey or herbal refreshment, canned food. No noise, cell phones, TVs, cars, etc. Yes, I'm a weirdo.
I've used crutches before, and did not have a problem with them. But it was about time someone decided to make a new design, as others I have talked to did have trouble using crutches. Surprised it took so long!
Yeah, I misspelled a word. It happens. I'm reasonably sure you could still get what I was saying. It is time for the world to actually concentrate on important issues, not divisive ideologies. People are far too concerned with things that, when you get down to it, are quite trivial. And you've actually helped prove my point,wpdunn71901.
It is time for everyone to just drop it and move on with the future. The world has been mired in this nonsense for far to long. There is so much more of importance in the world RIGHT NOW to be worrying about this mythologigal crap.
