I only read the first couple of pages of the original dissertation. It sounds like a key factor is that Yellowstone was a federal park before the surrounding territories became states. When they entered the Union, they ceded jurisdiction of their parts of the park.
I remember hearing the "broken string" part of the story on the radio, many many years ago. I always thought it interesting how inspiration could be found even in the most mundane of life's happenings.

There was also a generic at one of the local big box stores that tasted just about as good as the Folgers (I prefer their Columbian roast) for a comparable price-per-pound. No need to wait for sales with that option.
Tiny homes fascinate me; possibly because ours is two big for our needs. I think my favorite design is Quietude, which I didn't see on the link above. I think we'd want to figure out some different sleeping arrangements, though.
Very interesting. The part where one of the passengers of the plane he shot down was his girlfriend (and future wife) seems pretty fantastical. But then, with that man's record he could say he shot at Nazis on the Moon and I'd give him the benefit of the doubt.

Instead of just being pedantic about the headline, why not also offer suggestions of local foods? St Louis and KC are both known for BBQ ("Saint Louis style ribs", anyone?). Or there's Imo's pizza, which started the wafer-thin-pizza-crust craze.
