Savage is a super-fan of Andy Weir's (who shows up at 11:34) book The Martian; soon to be on the Silver Screen. While it's essentially a disaster story, it's hard science fiction which is based on science reality.

I realize this is probably news to you, but men shoppers get called "honey", "sweetie" and possibly even "lovey" (though I haven't experienced the latter, myself). Take it as a compliment, or live in perpetual outrage. The choice is yours.

If Newsweek reported it instead of dropping it, I'd bet everything would have played out in a similar fashion. It's fallacious for her (and websites) to accuse DrudgeReport of "bullying" for a story any news agency could have done. And there certainly wasn't any social media like today's.

But take that last picture; "How to win a lady's heart for keeps." The article likes mocking that, right? That 1949 housewife likely had to previously drag that blue carpet outside, beat it mercilessly ( while avoiding face-fulls of dust) and bring it back inside.
The same website has a more realistic perspective of many of those ads here; even suggesting many of those appliances were actually liberating.
