As for taking the photo seriously, it's a joke, it's funny, and great idea for a dog halloween costume contest. Dobermans are awesome and sweet dogs, and the perception I get from most people I meet is positive when it comes to dobermans. They can be protective, as can any dog not socialized (ever see a chihuahua kept as a purse or worse, in one). Dobermans just got a bad rep from being the popular "tough dog" in the late '70s and early '80s (Magnum PI, The Doberman Gang) as the Rottweiler did in the 90's and the Pitbull has now, which often attract to wrong type of owners, who don't have the time or understanding to train and work with a smart high energy dog.
