@ Sid: Ah ja, die Bayern mal wieder (und Hamburg macht's nach... -_-;)
However, there also exist Hofbrauhäuser and as the Neatorama-Article didn't specify in which Bra/äuhaus this photo was shot, declaring that Brauhaus must always be spellt Bräuhaus would deny the existence of the Hofbrauhäuser and with them their brands of beer (which is a very cruel thing to do) and be pretty misleading to boot, don'tcha think?
“Lead pouring” (das Bleigießen) is an old practice using molten lead like tea leaves. A small amount of lead is melted in a tablespoon (by holding a flame under the spoon) and then poured into a bowl or bucket of water. The resulting pattern is interpreted to predict the coming year. For instance, if the lead forms a ball (der Ball), that means luck will roll your way. The shape of an anchor (der Anker) means help in need. But a cross (das Kreuz) signifies death.
"Colloidal silver is billed as something that will cure just about everything that ails you and Karason swears by it. He doesn’t believe it is the cause of his condition."
Dude, those mothers give up their babies because they're unable to care for them at this particular time in their lives. It doesn't mean they hate those children and never ever want to see them again.
"These two spellings are largely interchangeable, but by far the most common is 'cannot' and you should probably use it except when you want to be emphatic: 'No, you can not wash the dog in the Maytag.'"
Huh. When I started skydiving, my brain actually went into overload the first 3 or 4 times I jumped out of the plane. I couldn't recall anything of the few seconds before I found myself hanging in the lines; and my teacher told me that this was to be expected. The first few jumps are there to train your brain to just take this level of excitement and prepare you for opening your parachute on your own.
So, if I were to be dropped from such a hight (without all those skydiving experience, of course), I probably wouldn't remember anything of the fall...
Exactly what I was thinking!
They'd get more people to take the bus, if their drivers weren't so goddamn rude.

Uhm, no, it's Hofbrauhaus.
It comes from brauen - to brew.
Bleigießen (pron. BLYE-ghee-sen)
