The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is really not very violent at all, particularly when compared to films like SAW or Turistas. What makes it so scary isn't the gore but the mood of inescapable doom that builds throughout the movie. The original is outright creepy in a way that none of the sequels or remakes have been able to replicate.

Water ice, now snow? I think it is only a matter of time before some kind of critter is found, however microscopic it may be. Whether or not NASA lets us know about it is another matter, however.

@ Tracy, Mattie:
Really? Neatorama shouldn't post this because some people might get upset and think the world is going to end? It might not be "good form" to make fun of peoples'(stupid) fears, but it sure is fun!
Seriously, all I can think of is the mokeys in 2001 waving bones at the obelisk when you say stuff like that.

The landing area was very carefully selected in advance, perhaps due to its proximity to the landmarks most of interest to NASA? There are suggestions that the real purpose of the voyage was to confirm and investigate the existence of artificial structures present on the moon. See "Dark Mission" by Richard C. Hoagland and Mike Barra for an intriguing look at the less publicized nature of space exploration. Fascinating stuff.

As much as I'd love someone to prove the existence of bigfoot I'm sure it is a hoax. However, kudos to Neaotorama for the story, it is pretty neat. I see a lot of bitching in the comments from people who clearly have no sense of fun. Get over it people. Carry on with your perfectly logical lives that leave no room for questions. The rest of us will continue to enjoy goofy crap, because it is entertaining.

so the picture gives the measurement of half of the gizmo as 10mm, which means it is actually 20mm, or 2cm wide. That's not really so tiny after all. That's a big frikkin' pill!

Another ten years before we hit peak oil? Well then, I'm sure the government will start thinking seriously about alternatives in, oh, about 9.5 years.
It is ridiculous that we are all still slaves to oil, when we have seen these problems coming for so long.
