I usually take anything Hawas says with a grain of salt, as he has a long history of obscuring the truth, hiding discoveries, and perpetuating stale myths of orthodox egyptology. It is interesting, however, to hear him actually challenging an established theory, as he has previously gone on record with the amazingly un-scientific statement "There are no new discoveries to be made at Giza. We know everything about the plateau,".
Unfortunately, the world will never have access to the truth about the pyramids of Giza as long as Hawas has any say in the matter.

If you go to the gallery linked above there is a side by side comparison of the cartoon house and the real hous exteriors, and you can see that they do NOT match. The garage sticks straight out of the real house, but the original animated house has that portion recessed, with a window above.
Yes, I am a nerd, why do you ask?

Weird, when I woke up this morning I thought, geez, I wish Neatorama would do another Tokyoflash treasure hunt! Thanks for reading my mind.
If I happen to win this time I would love either a C Version Gunmetal, or a Negative Multi-LED. Thanks!

@ Mr. Jones:
Are you serious? Please tell me you are joking. Perhaps they should have used some architectural blueprints and a topographical map, would that make you happier? Perhaps you should log off the computer and go for a walk.

Also, I think this the colouring book is a good idea; I have no problem with this being used as a tool to help children come to terms with tragedy.

I've seen this guy's videos before and this seems to be his schtick, running around like a jackass pissing people off. It's mildly amusing, but I have to admit I was happy to see him get smacked with that golf club. He seems so surprised that people might react negatively to his shenanigans. Not so funny to have the tables turned, eh buddy?

Yes! The Melvins are amazing, and I was thrilled to see them here. Trends come and go, but the Melvins just keep on being the Melvins, with little regard for public opinion. Awesome.

@Goober:
"There are more acres of forest in North America today than there were before the white man arrived 500 years ago."
Really? You may be right, but could you provide a source for that statement? Having seen the steady spread of development and urban sprwal over the last few decades I am sceptical.

Actually, the worst song ever is "Life is a Highway" by Tom Cochrane. To make things worse, due to Canadian Content laws and the general lack of taste of the Canadian public I have had to hear this song almost every single day since its release in the early 90's.
If I ever meet Tom Cochrane I am going to kick him the nuts sooooo hard...

My wife and I have made several rainbow cakes for friends in the last year, and the reactions are always terrific. I don't even like cake, but it's so great to see people gasp with delight when you cut them a slice.
You can also make rainbow cupcakes!
