Actually I think Japan is still like that. Probably not to the same degree, but honorable death is, I believe, still considered a good thing.

Was only thinking of these guys the other day when they crashed that funeral. That was extremely tacky and they will forever be douchebags. If they turned up at any funeral involving anyone I cared for, every single one would be punched in the face.
