When my son was 4 he told me he planned to get married and have three children when he grew up. I asked him who he was going to marry, naming various little girls he knew at the time. Exasperated, he said no to all of my suggestions and added, "Mom, do you know how many girls aren't even born yet?!"

I'd be just as clueless about countries I don't live in. Well, I'd probably do okay with Canada, but outside of knowing where countries are, their internal geography is baffling. Luckily, I know how to find and read a map!

My daughter was playing in the sand at a park one day when she was maybe 3 when she suddenly announced, "talking is how one brain connects to another." An old woman sitting next to me on the bench said, "she is going to be philosopher."

I dunno, I don't think the skills are in question. Look how close he/she/they get to the other cars without hitting them. It's more a lack of situational awareness, not being aware of the copious empty space almost directly behind the car.

I'm not an American, so this is just an outsider's opinion. I don't understand how anyone thinks it does not affect them. Maybe not today, but it will in the long run. Is your government representative getting paid during this "furlough"? Is it possible to find candidates for office that are there to do their job, not there to keep their job?

I don't think the criticism was offensive, and certainly not enough as to damage her chances of getting a new job. It's probably along the lines of what she'd say at an interview of asked 'why did you leave your last job?' And she has millions of hits, which would tell a future employee something about her ability to get a video talked about... although that's exactly what she rails against in the video of course!

Less than 10 seconds of that "music" was enough for me. Appalling.

Another improvement: put a plate on top of the CPU. It keeps the food warm.
