Clearly she broke the law. Why should she not be punished. If she did not want to be hauled off to jail for vandalism, she should not have committed the crime. I have five kids, and I teach them that consequences follow your actions. It may SEEM excessive, but we all know there is more to the story. Maybe rather than suing the school and the cops, her mom could teach her to avoid trouble.
